1920 Born at Nurse Darley’s Private Hospital, Wagga Wagga, to Alfred and Ethel Moye (nee Cowell) and named Daniel George Moye.

Demonstrator at Geology Department, The University of Sydney.
November 1941—1946
Geologist, with Geological Survey of New South Wales, on loan 1942-1944 as Chemist, to Chemical Defence Section, Munitions supply Laboratories, Marybyrnong, Victoria.
1946—1949
Engineering Geologist with Investigation Branch of Sydney Water Board, under William Hudson, Chief Civil Engineer. Worked on Warragamba Dam and Pipeline, City Tunnel and Bondi Treatment Works.
1949—1967
Head of Engineering Geology Branch, Scientific Services Division, of the Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Authority (SMA). One of the first persons appointed by the Commissioner, William Hudson, at the start of the Scheme. Interacted with and gained the confidence of the engineers at all levels in the organisation, as they recognised his extraordinary intellect and understanding of engineering issues.
Supervised, trained and motivated a team of engineering geologists (usually about 13 in number) and field and office support staff. Team Leader for the Authority’s laboratory and underground research into rock bolting.
Initiated the formation of the Soil Conservation Section, which listed the native plant species in the Snowy Mountains area, and designed and implemented methods to repair damaged and eroded ground. These methods, including topsoil preservation and replacement, were then included in construction contracts.
On loan, February 1962-July 1963 to the University of California (Berkeley) as Invited Guest Lecturer (Visiting Professor of Engineering).
